MEMORANDUM

The Administrator, -

Referring to the letter from Col. R. S. Knight, respecting the appointment of Constable Tidd as Agent to the Mining Recorder at Rampart House, - I beg to advise you that I think it desirable that Constable Tidd should have this appointment. There may be no occasion for him to act in that capacity, but as the section is so remote from Dawson , the question of appointing an agent, should the occasion ar ise, would present great difficulties.
