Claude’s photos have immense popular appeal. Claude had an eye for subjects that people love: Mounties, dogs, “characters” (or, as we say in the Yukon, “the colourful 5%”). Claude had a wonderful sense of humour, and many of his photos have a light-hearted, playful quality. Claude wanted to take pictures that people liked; he even sold his photos at times.

The only thing better than a picture of a Mountie or a picture of a sled dog is a picture of both all at once!
